  2. Select the appropriate term for which you want to register from the dropdown menu.

Adding Courses

  1. Enter the course ID or section number in the provided fields.

  2. Click "Add Course" to add it to your schedule.

  3. Review your schedule to ensure the course has been added and there are no scheduling conflicts.

Dropping Courses

  1. Navigate to your current schedule on the Testudo registration page.

  2. Find the course you wish to drop and select the "Drop" option.

  3. Confirm the action to remove the course from your schedule.

Waitlisting Courses

  1. If a course is full, you may have the option to join a waitlist.

  2. Add the course as you normally would, and if it is full, you will be prompted to join the waitlist.

  3. Select "Yes" to confirm your intention to join the waitlist.

  4. Monitor your university email and Testudo account regularly to see if you have been moved from the waitlist to the enrolled list as spots become available.

Managing Holdfile Issues

  1. Review any registration holds that might prevent you from registering. Common holds include financial obligations, advisor meetings, or incomplete mandatory training.

  2. Resolve holds by following the instructions provided in the hold description. This may involve contacting specific departments or completing required forms or actions.

  3. Check back regularly to see if the hold has been removed. You may need to log out and log back in to see changes.

General Tips

  • Register early: Access the registration system as soon as it opens for the best chance to secure your desired courses.

  • Have backup options: Prepare a list of alternative courses or sections in case your preferred choices are full.

  • Understand prerequisites: Ensure you meet all course prerequisites before attempting to register.

  • Use the Schedule Planner: Utilize Testudo’s Schedule Planner tool to create and compare different class schedule options without making any registration changes until you are satisfied.

Technical Support

If you encounter technical issues during registration, contact the Division of Information Technology at UMD for assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to navigate the course registration process on Testudo effectively. Remember to keep track of registration dates and deadlines to ensure a smooth enrollment process.
